Events Freeby is building an AI-powered Global Event Discovery & Exhibition Management Platform that helps businesses discover, compare, and participate in exhibitions and conferences worldwide.
To power our platform, we continuously build and maintain one of the largest structured databases of global trade shows, conferences, exhibitors, organizers, and industry contacts.
We are looking for a tech-savvy intern who enjoys web research, automation, Python scripting, and working with data.
Role Overview
As a Data Mining & Automation Intern, you will be responsible for discovering events from across the web, extracting structured information, cleaning and validating the data, and uploading it to the Events Freeby platform.
Beyond manual research, you'll also be encouraged to automate repetitive tasks by building Python scripts, web crawlers, and AI-assisted data extraction workflows that significantly improve productivity.
If you enjoy solving problems through code and building tools that save hours of manual work, this role is for you.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Discovery
- Research upcoming exhibitions, conferences, expos, trade fairs, and summits globally.
- Identify new event sources, directories, organizer websites, and industry portals.
- Discover new events before they are added to competitor platforms.
Data Extraction & Structuring
Extract and organize information including:
- Event Name
- Event Dates
- Venue & City
- Country
- Industry / Category
- Organizer Details
- Event Website
- Registration Link
- Exhibitor Profile
- Visitor Profile
- Booth Pricing (where available)
- Speaker Information
- Sponsors
- Social Media Links
Portal Management
- Prepare event datasets for bulk import.
- Upload events through the Events Freeby Admin Portal.
- Maintain data consistency and quality.
- Update existing event records as information changes.
Automation & Python Development
- Build Python scripts to extract event data from websites.
- Automate repetitive data collection and cleaning tasks.
- Develop web scraping utilities using tools such as BeautifulSoup, Selenium, Playwright, or Scrapy.
- Experiment with AI tools and LLMs to improve data extraction accuracy.
- Create reusable scripts for bulk imports and data transformation.
Data Quality
- Validate extracted information.
- Remove duplicate records.
- Standardize formatting.
- Ensure high data accuracy before publishing.
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest new automation ideas.
- Improve extraction speed and data quality.
- Build reusable internal tools for the operations team.
