Role & Responsibilities
- Define and own end-to-end data migration architecture and strategy for large-scale application modernisation and ERP/legacy system retirements.
- Lead data discovery, profiling, and source-to-target mapping—translate business requirements into robust ETL/transformation designs and migration runbooks.
- Architect and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using on-prem and cloud tooling; optimise performance, parallelism, and fault tolerance for high-volume datasets.
- Establish data quality, reconciliation, and validation frameworks; author test plans, acceptance criteria, and automated verification scripts for cutover readiness.
- Design cutover and rollback strategies, downtime minimisation plans, and post-migration reconciliation procedures; coordinate cross-functional go-live activities.
- Mentor technical teams, enforce engineering standards (CI/CD, observability, idempotent jobs), and liaise with stakeholders to manage risks and deliverables.
Skills & Qualifications Must-Have
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise data migration design and delivery.
- Proven expertise with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, or SSIS.
- Experience with cloud migration tooling and platforms (Azure Data Factory, AWS DMS) and hybrid architectures.
- Strong RDBMS skills: Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata; advanced SQL and performance tuning experience.
- Demonstrated capability in data profiling, mapping, transformation logic, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience producing cutover plans, reconciliation processes, and automating validation for zero/low-downtime migrations.
Preferred
- Exposure to SAP/Oracle EBS migrations or large-scale ERP data conversions.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and MDM concepts.
- Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Shell) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
