📣 Hiring: Data Manager & Analyst – Wildlife & Habitat Conservation
📍 Location: Prabhat Road, Pune (Full-time, In-office)
💼 ₹35,000/month (or as per experience)

We work on wildlife protection, research, community-based conservation, and grassland habitat restoration across India’s open ecosystems—combining field action with strong data systems and applied research.
🌿 Role Overview
We are hiring a Data Manager & Analyst to lead all data systems in the organisation.
This is a core, high-responsibility role focused on managing large volumes of conservation data, building systems, and delivering accurate reports for donors and government.
This is not a field role. It is intensive, office-based, and execution-focused.
🎯 What You’ll Do
• Manage and process large datasets from camera traps (including bulk camera trap data preparation), drones, and field logs
• Build and maintain structured systems (Excel/Sheets) for wildlife data, reporting, and tracking
• Lead data storage, backups, and access systems (cloud, NAS, hard drives)
• Set and improve data protocols and workflows
• Analyse wildlife and habitat data, including restoration-focused insights
• Prepare monthly–annual reports for donors and forest departments
• Create maps, charts, and summaries from camera trap, transect, and drone data
• Support drone data processing and mapping (preferred)
• Work with ungulate survey data (preferred)
• Coordinate across projects, manage interns, and ensure all deliverables are on track
• Support research outputs and publications
🧠 Tools & Skills
• Excel / Google Sheets (advanced), MS Office, Canva (required)
• R / Python (preferred), GIS (QGIS / ArcGIS)
• Wildlife tools: CAMTRAP, SMART, Distance, Maxent, etc.
• Strong understanding of data workflows, storage systems, and large datasets
🌍 Requirements
• Degree in Wildlife / Ecology / Environmental Science / Data Science / related field
• Strong English proficiency (mandatory)
• Ability to write clear reports and documentation
• Experience preferred: 2+ years
• Strong ownership and organisational ability
• Comfortable with deadlines and high-volume work
• Self-driven, proactive, and willing to continuously learn (mandatory)
• Willing to work full-time from office (minimal fieldwork)
⚠️ Important
This role involves handling the organisation’s entire data backbone.
If you are not comfortable with responsibility, structure, and deadlines, this role is not suitable.
⏳ Commitment Requirement (Important)
This role is central to long-term conservation projects running through 2028 and beyond.
We are specifically looking for candidates who are committed to long-term engagement (minimum 2–3 years) and are not seeking short-term or exploratory roles.
Candidates planning brief tenures (6–12 months) are not suitable for this position.
