Role Description The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks and policies across the organization. This full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram involves defining data ownership, stewardship, and quality standards, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish data dictionaries, metadata management practices, and data classification models, while monitoring adherence to governance guidelines. Typical day-to-day tasks include analyzing data issues, driving root-cause resolution, coordinating governance committees, and providing guidance on data usage and access controls. The role also includes creating documentation and training materials, supporting data audits, and contributing to continuous improvement of data processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong data governance and data management skills, including experience with data policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Candidates should possess skills in data quality, metadata management, and master data management to ensure accurate and reliable information assets.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate data issues, interpret complex datasets, and recommend practical solutions.
- Candidates should possess stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate effectively with business, technology, and compliance teams.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with data protection regulations, information security practices, and risk management principles.
- Relevant experience in data governance, data strategy, or enterprise data management, preferably within consulting, technology, or professional services environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Gurugram and lead initiatives with a structured, detail-oriented, and inclusive approach.
