Gaudi Engineer Pvt. Ltd. is a DPIIT-recognised AI startup building intelligent tools for the civil and structural engineering industry. Backed by over 40 years of domain expertise in bridges, metro infrastructure, and industrial structures, we are on a mission to modernise how engineering knowledge is accessed, processed, and applied. We are currently digitising foundational Indian Standard (IS) codes to build a robust, machine-readable knowledge base that powers our AI-driven engineering workflows.
Role Description
As a Technical Document Digitisation Intern, you will be responsible for converting scanned IS code PDFs into accurate, well-formatted, editable documents. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Transcribing textual content from scanned PDFs while preserving the original formatting, clause numbering, and document structure.
- Recreating tables to match the source layout and populating them with correct data, units, and notations.
- Capturing and placing graphs, charts, diagrams, and figures at their correct positions within the digitised document.
- Typesetting mathematical equations, formulae, and expressions with accurate symbols, subscripts, superscripts, and notation conventions.
- Performing thorough proofreading and quality checks to ensure the final output is error-free and faithful to the original.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with Indian Standard (IS/IRC/BIS) codes is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Google Docs, or LaTeX for document formatting and equation typesetting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and maintain consistency across large documents.
- Good written communication skills in English.
