Job Description – Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric Migration)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer with strong experience in data platform modernization and migration projects, specifically involving Microsoft Fabric.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating existing data solutions from legacy platforms such as SQL Server, Azure Synapse, SSIS, Power BI, Databricks, or Hadoop environments into Microsoft Fabric.
The role requires expertise in data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud technologies, data warehousing, and performance optimization.
The candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to ensure a smooth, scalable, and secure migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data migration solutions into Microsoft Fabric.
- Migrate data pipelines, reports, datasets, and warehouse solutions from legacy platforms to Fabric.
- Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, and Lakehouse architecture.
- Build and optimize data models, medallion architecture, and enterprise data warehouses.
- Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL databases, APIs, cloud storage, and third-party systems.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security throughout migration activities.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with BI developers and analysts to support Power BI reporting solutions within Fabric.
- Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures, system performance, and data processing issues.
- Create technical documentation, migration strategies, and operational procedures.
- Support deployment automation and CI/CD processes.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide recommendations for best practices.
