About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer with a strong foundation in backend development and data processing. This role is ideal for candidates who are genuinely interested in working with data pipelines, scalable systems, and real-world fintech/payment data use cases.
⚠️ Important: This role is not for casual applicants. We are specifically looking for individuals who are serious about building a career in Data Engineering and are willing to work hands-on with data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for processing large-scale data
- Develop backend services using Python (primary) and PHP where required
- Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
- Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Write efficient queries and manage databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Build APIs to serve processed data to internal/external systems
- Integrate third-party APIs (especially fintech/payment integrations)
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline and production issues
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, backend, and product teams
Required Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in Python (must-have) and backend development
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OOP concepts
- Experience building or working with ETL pipelines / data workflows
- Hands-on experience with SQL (query optimization, indexing, joins)
- Familiarity with Linux environments and Git workflows
- Basic understanding of APIs and microservices architecture
Good to Have (Preferred, not mandatory)
- Exposure to Data Engineering tools like Databricks or Snowflake
- Experience with Pandas, NumPy, or similar libraries
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or streaming systems
- Understanding of Docker / containerization
- Experience in fintech/payment systems
