About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at UST in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures that support our data-driven initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data management best practices. As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure the seamless ingestion, processing, and availability of high-quality data for analytics and decision-making. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver innovative solutions and insights that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 6-10 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles is required. Strong proficiency in big data technologies such as PySpark, Apache Spark, and data lake architectures (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi) is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is mandatory. Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and quality frameworks is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimizing data workflows. Familiarity with streaming data platforms and API integrations will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support large-scale data processing needs.
- Build and manage Data Lakehouse architecture utilizing technologies such as Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Hudi to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Process and analyze large datasets using PySpark and Apache Spark to derive actionable insights.
- Ingest data from diverse sources including APIs, databases, and streaming platforms into data lakes with high reliability and security.
- Optimize data workflows for enhanced performance, scalability, and reliability to meet business demands.
- Implement comprehensive data quality, validation, and governance frameworks to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions accordingly.
- Develop and maintain data models that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for data storage, processing, and deployment of scalable data solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines and workflows to ensure continuous data availability and performance.
