About The Role
We are currently building a talent pool for Data Engineers at Kake. This pipeline role is designed for engineers with a solid foundation in data modeling, schema design, and SQL expertise. As a Data Engineer at Kake, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a modern data stack that supports advanced analytics, decision-making, and product insights. Your work will involve transforming raw production data into structured, accessible formats, creating data marts tailored to business needs, and developing AI-ready semantic layers for large language model querying. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across cutting-edge technologies such as Airflow, Snowflake, and various data visualization tools, contributing directly to the company's data-driven initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a problem-solving mindset. Essential qualifications include expertise in SQL and data modeling, proficiency with Airflow, Snowflake, and visualization tools like Looker, Superset, or HEX. Additionally, solid Python skills are required for building data workflows and transformations. Bonus points are awarded for experience with large language model prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or related AI tools. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for continuous learning and innovation, with a background in consumer tech or SaaS being advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Transform raw production data into analytics-ready formats to facilitate insights and decision-making.
- Design and develop data marts organized by business use cases rather than data origin, ensuring efficient data access and usability.
- Create and maintain an AI-ready semantic layer to enable large language model querying and integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver scalable data solutions.
- Implement data pipelines using Airflow and manage data storage and processing within Snowflake.
- Develop visualizations and dashboards using tools like Looker, Superset, or HEX to communicate insights effectively.
- Maintain data quality, security, and compliance standards across all data workflows.
- Stay updated with emerging data technologies and incorporate best practices into ongoing projects.
