About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our Web Scraping Team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and maintaining web scraping applications that gather vital datasets for our clients. You will work closely with analysts, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, design efficient scraping solutions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality data assets. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automation, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects with independence and accountability. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of educational background and hands-on experience, including:
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Between 2 to 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, with extensive experience using the Pandas library for data manipulation.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
- Experience working with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, APIs, and web scraping tools.
- Proven ability to handle large datasets for data cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for designing scalable data infrastructure and tools for data scientists.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and project goals.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust web scrapers to extract data from various online sources and platforms.
- Perform comprehensive data cleaning, exploration, transformation, and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Implement efficient data processing workflows and automate routine tasks using scheduling tools like Airflow or similar platforms.
- Develop and execute quality control checks to monitor data quality and system performance.
- Maintain and optimize alerting systems to promptly identify and resolve data incidents or anomalies.
- Contribute to the development of new products, features, and tools that enhance the web scraping platform and overall data ecosystem.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data pipelines and support ongoing operational needs.
