About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data Pipelines Engineering Team within the Data & AI organization at P&G Hyderabad. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing enterprise data pipelines that support global analytics initiatives. Your expertise will enable the creation of scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions that facilitate data-driven decision-making across various business functions. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving Azure Databricks and other cloud-based data tools, collaborating with multi-functional, multinational teams. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data models and pipelines that support analytical and operational needs, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with security standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a Master’s degree being a plus. Extensive experience (minimum 3+ years) in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL is essential. Proven expertise in working with the Databricks platform, including job creation, scheduling, and integration with other data tools and services, is required. Knowledge of Delta Lake for data management and optimization will be highly advantageous. Candidates should have solid understanding and hands-on experience with ETL processes, data modeling techniques, and cloud platforms, preferably Azure. Familiarity with Apache Spark architecture, performance optimization, and programming models (DataFrames, Datasets, RDDs) is crucial. Industry-recognized certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, or Spark Developer Associate are preferred. Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in Agile environments, and familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices are also important.
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize data modeling techniques to ensure scalable and efficient data solutions that meet analytical and operational requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications that source data from various systems, utilizing programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data management teams, cloud architects, information security, and platform teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Create and implement architecture improvements, automation, and technology choices during the experimentation and proof-of-concept phases for new analytical models.
- Deliver robust solution architecture, ensuring data security, compliance, and performance optimization.
- Develop and manage scalable data pipelines, leveraging Azure Databricks and related tools to support global analytics initiatives.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Maintain documentation of data pipelines, models, and architecture standards, ensuring clarity and knowledge sharing across teams.
