Hiring data engineers for Bangalore location with global consulting firm.
Experience - 5-8 years
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and automated workflows across various internal systems.
- Perform data extraction from multiple source systems (databases, APIs, flat files), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Manage and optimize SQL databases, including query tuning, stored procedures, and performance monitoring.
- Develop ETL processes to clean, transform, and aggregate large datasets for analytics and reporting.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and performance optimization.
- Develop VBA-based automation solutions to streamline data processing and reporting tasks.
- Perform data analysis and prepare insights, trend reports, and data validation outputs for stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Technology, Actuarial/Engineering teams) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure strong documentation, version control, and adherence to data governance best practices.
Core Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning) and database administration concepts.
- Experience building and managing ETL pipelines using tools or custom scripts.
- Proficiency in VBA, particularly for automation of recurring data processes.
- Strong capability in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report optimization.
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, macros, complex formulas).
- Solid understanding of data structures, data quality checks, and data validation methods.
- Experience with data extraction from enterprise systems, APIs, and other structured or unstructured sources.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python preferred) for data wrangling would be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to insurance, financial services, or other data-rich operational environments (nice to have, not mandatory).
- Experience working in a fast-paced shared services or analytics setup.
