About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at TCS in Visakhapatnam. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines that enable advanced analytics and business intelligence. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to define data architecture strategies, implement ETL processes, and optimize data workflows to support enterprise-wide data initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies such as Snowflake, Python, and cloud data platforms, contributing to transformative data solutions that impact decision-making at the highest levels.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering or related roles. A strong background in Python programming and hands-on experience with Snowflake for ETL pipeline development are essential. Knowledge of IDMC (Intelligent Data Management Cloud) and familiarity with AWS services, particularly S3, are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong understanding of data architecture principles. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering.
Responsibilities
The Data Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing data architecture strategies, standards, and best practices to ensure scalable and efficient data solutions. Key responsibilities include developing and managing ETL pipelines using Python, Snowflake, and IDMC, and building data flows and mappings from source systems to analytics platforms. The role involves handling both batch and streaming data pipelines, with exposure to Kafka being a plus. The candidate will work on large-scale data processing projects to meet evolving business requirements, perform code reviews, and optimize data workflows for performance. Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues promptly will be critical, along with leveraging Snowflake’s advanced capabilities such as resource monitors, RBAC, virtual warehouse sizing, and query performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance.
