About The Role
The Technical Lead – Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering at HCLTech is a pivotal role responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced data solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data engineering, capable of leading complex projects and guiding technical teams. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in building scalable, high-performance data pipelines that support strategic decision-making and foster a data-driven culture within the organization. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in ETL development and data engineering, with recent projects involving Microsoft Fabric, is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric Data Pipelines, Notebooks (PySpark/Spark SQL), and deep knowledge of Delta Lake functionalities are required. Candidates should demonstrate strong SQL skills, experience in implementing data quality frameworks, and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are vital, along with a proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex data projects.
Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and deploy scalable ETL processes leveraging Microsoft Fabric, integrating data from diverse sources into cloud-based data warehouses and lakehouses. Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. Build, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy throughout the ETL lifecycle by adhering to industry best practices for data governance and management. Monitor and troubleshoot ETL workflows to resolve issues proactively, optimize performance, and maintain system reliability. Document workflows, data mappings, and process modifications to facilitate transparency and knowledge sharing across teams. Implement advanced data transformation techniques, including Change Data Capture, schema evolution, and error handling, to ensure robust data ingestion and processing. Uphold data security, privacy, and compliance standards at all stages of data engineering activities, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
