About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that underpin our platform, analytics, and business operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and business units to understand data requirements and deliver reliable, high-performance solutions. Your expertise will contribute to shaping the architecture of our data platform, ensuring data quality, observability, and pipeline reliability as we expand our global footprint. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment, directly impacting our product's success and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. You should have at least 4 years of professional experience in data engineering or backend development, with a strong focus on Python and SQL. Proven expertise in building ETL/ELT pipelines, managing large-scale data movement, and working with cloud services such as AWS (S3, RDS, Lambda, Redshift) is essential. Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Celery, and familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL in production environments, is required. Additionally, experience with Docker, modern deployment environments, and understanding data warehouse concepts will be highly advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Build, own, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support our platform, analytics, and business operations.
- Design and implement robust ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting, transforming, and validating data from diverse sources.
- Develop and optimize backend data processes using Python and SQL to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Model, optimize, and maintain data schemas across transactional and analytical systems to support business intelligence needs.
- Support batch and near real-time processing pipelines for internal and customer-facing applications.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to gather data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Enhance data quality, observability, and pipeline reliability across the data stack.
- Manage orchestration workflows utilizing tools such as Airflow or Celery to automate data processes.
- Contribute to the development of cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, and system scalability initiatives.
- Participate in shaping the long-term architecture of our data platform to support global growth and evolving business needs.
