Freelance CA / Zoho Books Expert Required | Bengaluru
We are looking for a freelance Chartered Accountant (CA), semi-qualified CA, or highly experienced Zoho Books Certified Professional for a short-term project to clean up and streamline our accounting and GST-related workflows.
We are a Bengaluru-based, service-oriented creative agency operating as an LLP. Our statutory and GST compliance is currently managed by an existing CA. This project is primarily about getting our internal data, Zoho Books setup, GST reconciliation and processes properly structured so they are reliable and scalable as we grow.
Project Scope1. Data Clean-up & Migration
- Review our existing Zoho Books setup, which is currently used primarily for estimates and sales/service invoicing.
- Import and structure historical purchase/vendor and sales data maintained in Excel.
- Where practical, reconcile the data against bank statements and transaction records and identify discrepancies.
- Historical data goes back to approximately 2020.
2. GST & GSTR-2B Reconciliation
- Establish a proper process for tracking GSTR-2B and ITC.
- Review/reconcile historical data to identify potential missed ITC, preferably from 2020 onwards.
- If a complete historical reconciliation is not practical within the project budget, we are open to starting from 1 April 2026 onwards and establishing a clean process going forward.
- Assess whether additional checks around vendor GST details, ITC and GST return data are required to close the process loop.
3. Zoho Books & GST Workflow
- Assess and set up the appropriate Zoho Books/GST workflow and integrations, where feasible.
- Currently, Zoho Books is primarily being used as a standalone invoicing system.
4. SOP Creation
- Prepare a simple, practical 1-page SOP/checklist covering the process our internal team should follow going forward.
Who We're Looking ForSomeone with strong practical experience in Zoho Books, Indian GST, GSTR-2B/ITC reconciliation and accounting workflows.
📍 Location: Bengaluru-based, preferably South Bengaluru. The project will involve handling confidential financial/company information and will require at least a couple of in-person interactions. Initial work may also need to be carried out using our office laptop/system.
⏱️ Timeline: ASAP. There is no rigid 2–4 week deadline, but we would like to complete the project at the earliest practical date.
💰 Compensation: Fixed project fee. Please share your expected project fee, estimated timeline and relevant experience when responding.
