We are seeking an experienced Data Groomer / Data Cleaning Tool Consultant for an immediate, high-impact engagement. You will own the data hygiene and Master Data Management (MDM) function within a Salesforce CRM environment — ensuring that the client's data is accurate, deduplicated, and structured for reliable reporting and deal-critical decision-making.
This is not a passive data monitoring role. You will be hands-on from day one, executing cleanups, building governance frameworks, and driving measurable data quality outcomes at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a full audit of the Salesforce CRM to identify duplicates, incomplete records, inconsistencies, and structural gaps
- Execute deduplication, merging, and mass record updates using tools such as DemandTools, Cloudingo, DataGroomr, or similar
- Define and implement MDM governance — establishing the "golden record" standard across Accounts, Contacts, and Leads
- Normalize and standardize data (address formatting, phone numbers, industry classification, lead sources)
- Configure automated data quality rules, match logic, and scheduled cleaning jobs
- Ensure data is correctly structured for downstream integrations (ERPs, marketing platforms, reporting tools)
- Build and maintain a Data Health Dashboard to provide real-time visibility into data quality progress
- Document all processes, rules, and governance models for handover
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in CRM data quality, data hygiene, or MDM roles
- Demonstrated proficiency with at least one of: DemandTools, Cloudingo, DataGroomr, Plauti Deduplicate, or equivalent Salesforce data tools
- Strong understanding of Salesforce object architecture — Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and their relationships
- Experience with deduplication logic, fuzzy matching, and merge/purge strategies
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
- Strong communication skills — able to explain data issues and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Salesforce Administrator or Data Architecture certification
- Experience with downstream integrations (NetSuite, HubSpot, or similar ERPs/MAPs)
- Exposure to Private Equity, Financial Services, or professional services environments
- Familiarity with Python or Excel for supplementary data manipulation
