Summary:Responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of databases. May also handle user access to data and system questions or integrations.
Responsibilities:- Database maintenance and upgrade
- On-call - Investigating database issues
- Database query optimization
- Migrating data as well as transforming data from one format to another
- Ensure the assigned Postgres databases remain highly available for the next 8 months while the team migrates data to DynamoDB
- Verify current status of the database
- Take proactive measures to prevent database outages
- Execute database upgrade
- Handle high severity tickets
Requirements:- Bachelor's in Computer Science or IT
- Experience handling Aurora (Postgres) database without ongoing help from another DBA
- Comfortable with handling tickets outside regular business hours
- Knowledgeable in writing and reviewing SQL
