Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect – Azure & AI Data Platforms
Location: Tamil Nadu
Moative is an AI Venture Lab and AI Operating Partner helping primary industries and vertical SaaS companies turn applied AI opportunities into practical business systems. We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect to own data platform foundations — warehouse design, data models, integration patterns, and orchestration — that directly support AI and analytics delivery across client engagements.

What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end data architecture for client-facing delivery — warehouse design, data models, integration patterns, orchestration approach, quality checks, and handover practices for multi-team usage
- Build and harden Azure-first data pipelines using SQL, Python, or PySpark alongside Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse, and comparable warehouse and lakehouse patterns
- Partner with Moative and client-side engineers to review implementation choices, set architecture guardrails, and raise risks around data quality, maintainability, cost, security, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous business and client data problems into practical architecture options, implementation plans, and trade-offs that both technical and non-technical stakeholders can act on
- Support high-urgency delivery across AI, analytics, and client-side product workflows while mentoring and unblocking mid-level engineers
What We're Looking For
- 7–10 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer, Data Architect, Analytics Engineer, or similar senior IC role with clear evidence of architecture ownership and hands-on delivery
- Strong Azure-first data stack experience — Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse, orchestration, monitoring, and integration architecture
- Excellent SQL depth and strong Python or PySpark implementation ability — production-grade pipelines, transformations, data models, and warehouse layers used by multiple teams
- Comfortable advising mid-level engineers and stakeholders — reviewing designs, challenging shortcuts, documenting standards, and guiding delivery independently
- Experience in AI venture, applied AI, analytics consulting, or vertical SaaS data platforms is a strong advantage
- Senior Data Engineer, Data Architect, Analytics Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, or Cloud Data Architect with equivalent experience are welcome to apply
