About the Role
The Data Annotator intern role involves working on innovative financial technology projects that combine domain expertise with cutting-edge AI and NLP tools. This role offers hands-on experience building real-world data pipelines through project-based work. You will design, execute, and quality-assure annotation frameworks that directly feed into machine learning models
Assigned Projects
Interns will work on four core projects during the programme:
1. Financial Document Classification & Entity Extraction
2. Multi-Dimensional Customer Communication Annotation Pipeline
3. Conversational AI Training Data Curation for Financial Chatbot
4. Financial News Event Detection & Causal Chain Annotation
Each project produces a portfolio-worthy deliverable demonstrating both technical and domain expertise.
Eligibility
Early career talent including students enrolled in High School, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or MBA programs from ANY academic discipline, or fresh graduates from any field.
No prior work experience required.
Self-motivated learners with an interest in FinTech, AI, and financial markets.
Qualifications
Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
Familiarity with NLP concepts and annotation tools (Label Studio, Prodigy, or equivalent) is a plus — not mandatory.
Understanding of financial documents, customer communications, and regulatory language is advantageous.
Interest in machine learning data pipelines and annotation quality frameworks.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); familiarity with JSON or CSV formats helpful.
What You Will Learn
Practical experience designing and executing end-to-end data annotation pipelines for real AI applications.
Deep understanding of NLP concepts — entity recognition, intent classification, sentiment analysis, and event detection.
Exposure to financial markets, regulatory language, and financial document structures.
Hands-on experience with annotation quality metrics, inter-annotator agreement, and red-teaming methodologies.
Portfolio-worthy projects demonstrating both technical proficiency and financial domain expertise.
