About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support the Transaction Monitoring System Analytics Manager with both business-as-usual (BAU) activities and ad-hoc analytical initiatives. This pivotal role focuses on developing, optimizing, and automating compliance data analytics, management information systems (MIS), and regulatory reporting processes. The primary objective is to enhance the bank’s capabilities in anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions compliance, and oversight of correspondent banking activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL development skills, advanced Excel/VBA automation expertise, and a deep understanding of compliance data requirements within a regulated banking environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical compliance functions, ensuring regulatory adherence and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst within a financial institution, preferably a bank or regulated financial services organization. They should demonstrate proven expertise working with banking datasets, including transactional, customer, and compliance-related data. A strong educational background in finance, mathematics, computer science, or related fields is preferred. Candidates must possess excellent technical skills in SQL and Excel/VBA, along with familiarity with reporting and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills are essential to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable data insights. Additionally, experience supporting compliance, risk, audit, or regulatory reporting functions will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries used for management reporting and regulatory submissions, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Build and enhance Excel-based automation tools and reporting dashboards utilizing VBA, macros, Power Query, and pivot tables to streamline reporting processes.
- Create automated workflows and integrations leveraging SharePoint Online and Power Automate to improve operational efficiency and data consistency.
- Collaborate closely with Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to support tuning cycles, model updates, and ongoing production monitoring.
- Provide timely analytical support for production issues, data investigations, and system modifications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of queries, processes, and reporting logic to facilitate transparency and knowledge sharing across teams.
