About The Role
The Data Analyst role at Tata Consultancy Services offers an exciting opportunity for professionals with over five years of experience to contribute to complex data initiatives across a global landscape. This position involves working extensively on data discovery, analysis, lineage, and governance to ensure data integrity and quality. The successful candidate will interact with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including process owners, risk managers, project managers, subject matter experts, and IT teams, both locally and globally. Your primary focus will be on producing high-quality artefacts, securing necessary sign-offs, and implementing data quality improvements within the Traded Risk Management Reporting and Analytical processes.
This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate a complex, fragmented data environment. You will be responsible for identifying, tracking, and resolving data quality issues related to Counterparty Credit Risk and Market Risk, utilizing HSBC’s global data quality issue remediation tools. The position offers a unique chance to influence risk management processes and contribute to the integrity of critical financial data in a dynamic, multinational setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or related roles within financial services or risk management.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
- Experience working with data quality issue tracking and remediation tools, preferably within a risk or financial environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively liaise with global teams and process owners.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Knowledge of traded risk processes, counterparty credit risk, and market risk data is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data discovery, analysis, and lineage mapping to support risk management and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with process owners, subject matter experts, and IT teams to produce high-quality artefacts and secure necessary approvals.
- Identify, log, and track data quality issues, performing root cause analysis to determine underlying problems.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality and consistency across the Traded Risk Management Reporting environment.
- Utilize HSBC’s global data quality issue remediation tools to log issues, track progress, and ensure timely resolution.
- Work closely with risk managers and stakeholders to communicate findings, updates, and remediation strategies effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, issues, and resolutions to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Participate in global risk projects, providing analytical support and insights to enhance data governance frameworks.
