1. Role Title (Recommended): SAP Datasphere Security & Data Access
Architect (DAC/RLS Specialist)
2. Core Expertise Required
A. SAP Ecosystem Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with:
SAP Datasphere
SAP S/4HANA
Deep understanding of:
SAP authorization objects (PFCG roles, SU24, SU01)
Role-based access control (RBAC) in SAP
SAP GRC (optional but highly valuable)
B. Data Security & Access Control
Proven experience implementing:
Row-Level Security (RLS)
Data Access Control (DAC) models
Ability to design:
Central authorization mapping tables
(USER_ID, AUTH_OBJECT, AUTH_VALUE)
Experience with:
Runtime security evaluation
Attribute-based access control (ABAC concepts)
C. Data Modeling & Semantic Layer
Hands-on with:
Datasphere semantic models (Business Layer / Consumption Layer)
Experience applying security:
At model level (not just DB level)
Understanding of:
Analytical models and downstream consumption (e.g., SAC)
D. Integration & Architecture
Experience designing:
Automated synchronization between S/4HANA and Datasphere
Strong in:
Identity management (IdP, SSO)
Live connections (especially SAP Analytics Cloud)
Ability to build:
Scalable, reusable DAC artifacts
E. Governance & Best Practices
Familiar with:
Separation of duties (SoD)
Security governance frameworks
Experience working with:
Security teams + data teams collaboration
3. Ideal Background
6–10+ years experience in SAP ecosystem
Prior roles such as:
SAP Security Consultant
SAP BW/4HANA or Datasphere Architect
Data Security Architect (SAP-focused)
Experience in enterprise environments (multi-entity, multi-region)
4. Red Flags (Avoid Candidates Who)
Only know SAP functional modules (FI/MM/SD) without security depth
Only worked on Power BI / Snowflake / Databricks without SAP exposure
Have no experience with row-level security or authorization models
Lack understanding of role synchronization across systems
