Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services to students in our district. The SLP will be responsible for planning and implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of speech/language therapy services to support student’s communication development and participation in the education environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative, student-centered, and experienced in working with learners in an educational setting.
Duties
- Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to students ages PreK-12 in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Participate in the development, review, and revision of IEPs in collaboration with teachers, families, and other team members.
- Implement evidence-based therapy interventions to address students’ speech, language, fluency, and communication needs.
- Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate communication goals into daily routines and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of services, progress notes, and required documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, strategies, and home carryover activities.
- Maintain positive and constructive communication with staff.
- Collaborate with general and special education teams to support inclusive practices and student success.
- Maintain and report accurate student attendance and performance records.
- Adhere to due process timelines and complete individualized education plan and evaluation paperwork to guide educational programming.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Ability to communicate effectively on interpersonal and group levels.
● Skilled in developing and delivering speech and language direct services to students to assist them in addressing or achieving their goals and objectives.
● Knowledge of standardized and informal diagnostic and assessment measures and/or instruments used in the identification and evaluation of speech language development and/or disorders.
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
