Job Title: Dark Store Manager
Department: Operations / Quick Commerce
Reports to: Operations Head / City Manager
Job Purpose
The Dark Store Manager will oversee the end-to-end operations of a dedicated fulfillment center (Dark Store). The primary goal is to ensure 100% inventory accuracy and ultra-fast order processing to meet tight delivery SLAs (e.g., 10–20 minutes), while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily inbound and outbound activities including receiving (GRN), put-away, picking, packing, and handover to riders.
• Inventory & Quality Control: * Maintain real-time inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and weekly audits.
• Implement FEFO/FIFO (First-Expired-First-Out) practices for perishables.
• Minimize shrinkage and wastage (target < 1%).
• SLA Management: Monitor real-time order flow to ensure "Click-to-Handover" times remain within the target (typically under 2–3 minutes).
• Team Leadership: Manage a team of pickers, packers, and security personnel. Handle roster planning, training, and performance tracking.
• Rider Coordination: Collaborate with the last-mile delivery team to ensure seamless handovers and minimize rider wait times.
• Compliance & Maintenance: Ensure the facility meets all health, safety, and food license (FSSAI) regulations. Oversee maintenance of equipment like chillers and handheld devices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: 2–5 years in warehouse management, retail operations, or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) management.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory apps, and Excel.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to use data to identify bottlenecks in the picking process or inventory gaps.
• Leadership: Strong ability to manage blue-collar workforces in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Education: Graduate in any stream (Logistics or Supply Chain specialization is a plus).
