Job Summary:
The Fitter/Welder is responsible for tasks including cutting, welding, and fabricating metal components. The Fitter/Welder will work with a variety of metals, including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. The work involves creating or repairing items such as machinery, piping, and structural components for joining metal pieces in a variety of scenarios, but you will primarily be welding steel, aluminum, and other materials.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for welding assignments on custom seating and bleacher products.
- Collaborate with other welders and manufacturing employees as needed to finish and ship products.
- Work with various welding tools and machinery.
- Troubleshoot welding issues when needed, and offer suggestions on how to correct.
- Other Duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- 2 plus years’ welding experience with structural steel or ornamental iron.
- Layout skills and experience reading blueprints/shop drawings.
- Ability to work/fabricate from sketches and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to pass certification test, if certification is not already obtained.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with fabrication tools (Saws, Drill Press, Brake Press) helpful
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure
- Must be able to produce quality results, work shifts, and overtime when needed.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Degrees and /or professional certifications in welding are highly preferred.
- Must have a proven track record of reliability and accountability.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be safety-conscious with experience in following safety rules and regulations in a plant environment.
- Must be collaborative with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be flexible with the ability to stoop, reach, and kneel for extended periods of time.
