Job Description:
We are currently seeking flexible and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidate will step in to support the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a consistent, positive learning environment for the students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Abide by policies outlined in the Teacher Handbook.
- Ensure the safety, ratios, and Childcare Licensing expectations are met at all times.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
- Support daily activities, including recess monitoring and classroom transitions

Requirements
Experience You Need to Succeed:
We are looking for individuals who are invested in promoting children’s social, emotional, and academic growth. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma (a 2 or 4-year degree or Montessori training is preferred).
- Adaptability and the ability to step into a new environment and collaborate with existing staff.
- Effective communication skills with children, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- A desire to learn and support Montessori principles and structured curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of Montessori philosophy (experience preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of Dancing Moose curriculum (training provided).
- Flexibility to adapt to different classroom settings and routines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to address concerns and ideas through appropriate channels.
Collaborative and supportive approach to working with colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with Child Care Licensing requirements, candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of an early childhood education setting, including:

Ability to lift, carry, and support children and materials weighing up to 30 pounds

Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time

Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor, and to get up and down frequently throughout the day

Ability to actively supervise children in classroom and outdoor environments

Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children
