Description
Elite Vehicle Solutions (A Dana Safety Supply company) is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to support the production of components used in emergency vehicle upfitting. This role is responsible for building wiring harnesses, assembling installation kits, producing components, and developing templates that support the installation of public safety equipment. The Manufacturing Technician plays an important role in ensuring our production team and field installers have reliable, high-quality components used in emergency response vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble electrical wiring harnesses for emergency vehicle equipment.
- Assemble and package installation kits and components used in emergency vehicle upfitting.
- Create and maintain templates and patterns used to produce wiring harnesses and related assemblies.
- Perform basic electrical work including cutting, stripping, crimping, and routing wiring.
- Follow schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of harnesses, kits, and assembled components.
- Maintain organized inventory of parts and materials used in manufacturing processes.
- Perform quality checks and testing of assembled harnesses and components.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and installation teams to improve processes and products.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or electrical production preferred.
- Experience building wiring harnesses or electrical assemblies is a strong plus.
- Ability to read diagrams, instructions, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and basic electrical assembly tools (crimpers, cutters, strippers, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with 12V electrical systems.
- Experience in automotive, electronics, or vehicle upfitting manufacturing.
- Familiarity with harness layout boards or template creation.
- Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
