D365 Functional Consultant (Revenue Recognition)
Experience
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience in D365 Finance and Revenue Recognition implementations.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 (D365) Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Revenue Recognition to design, implement, and support finance solutions within the D365 ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bridge business needs and technical solutions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and seamless financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Expertise
- Lead implementation and configuration of D365 Finance (Finance & Operations) modules with a focus on Revenue Recognition.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications aligned with IFRS 15 / ASC 606 standards.
- Configure revenue recognition rules, schedules, and deferral processes within D365.
- Support end-to-end finance processes including Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Project Accounting.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Design scalable and compliant revenue recognition solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams for integrations with systems like CRM, billing platforms, and third-party tools.
- Participate in system design workshops, solution architecture, and testing cycles (UAT/SIT).
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity during migrations and system transitions.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with finance stakeholders to understand requirements and provide advisory support.
- Act as a trusted functional expert for business users and leadership teams.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer.
Support & Optimization
- Provide post-implementation support and continuous improvements.
- Troubleshoot issues related to revenue recognition and financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to optimize system performance and financial reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (F&O).
- Proven expertise in Revenue Recognition module/configurations.
- Solid understanding of IFRS 15 / ASC 606 accounting standards.
- Experience in financial processes (GL, AR, billing, project accounting).
- Hands-on experience with end-to-end D365 implementation projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications in D365 Finance.
- Experience with integrations (Power Platform, Azure, APIs).
- Exposure to AI-driven finance solutions or automation tools.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
