Junior Accountant

 

Job Description Summary: 

• D&G is seeking an exceptional Junior Accountant as a key member of our rapidly growing business supporting multiple Government Contracting Clients. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager as a part of our finance and accounting team. Roles & Responsibilities:  

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Process accounts payable transactions.
• Maintain and optimize the timekeeping and expense system (Unanet) to ensure accurate labor and cost tracking in accordance with DCAA requirements.
• Review and reconciliation of all expense reports for accuracy and DCAA compliance.
• Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll, verifying all inputs in Unanet and Paycor for accuracy and compliance. Enter and maintain Payroll Journal Entries.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Support the Senior Finance Manager with audits and tax filings.
• Maintain organized financial files and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  
  
  

Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:  

• DoD, DHS or Federal Agency contract accounting experience
