We are looking for a highly experienced Senior / Lead QA Engineer with a strong balance of automation and functional testing expertise to ensure end-to-end quality for modern web and backend systems. This role requires a hands-on professional who can contribute as an individual contributor while also providing technical leadership in defining testing strategies and best practices.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality across UI, API, and backend layers, embedding both manual and automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute functional test cases to validate business requirements across UI, API, and backend systems.
Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Cypress for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
Build and scale reusable, maintainable test automation frameworks following Cypress best practices.
Perform backend and API functional testing, including validation of services, integrations, and data flows.
Identify, prioritize, and transition suitable test scenarios from manual to automated testing.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
Manage test environments, test data, execution schedules, and ensure reliable test runs across multiple environments.
Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and provide actionable quality insights and defect reports.
Collaborate closely with developers, QA, DevOps, and product teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship, contributing to test strategy, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8–10 years of experience in software testing, with a strong mix of automation and functional testing.
Extensive hands-on experience with Cypress for UI and API automation.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or Java.
Proven experience in backend and API functional testing.
Solid understanding of test automation design patterns and Cypress best practices.
Experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work effectively as both a Lead and Individual Contributor."
