QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- Proficiency in DSLR still and video photography preferred.
- At least three (3) years of food industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in managing multiple social media platforms. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Demonstrated proficiency on both Macintosh and PC platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency required in desktop publishing, Microsoft and Adobe Creative suites, and Windows operating systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in presentation design and public speaking.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple assignments, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$60,208 (BA 3)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Shoot, edit, produce, and distribute photographs and videos for websites, publications, or social media accounts.
- Frequent travel to district campuses and facilities to ensure that merchandising standards are being upheld.
- Create engaging content for distribution via social media or traditional media channels.
- Use multiple social media channels to enhance the department profile, including live tweets, Instagram posts, and stories, posting photo albums and updates to Facebook, and videos to YouTube.
- Maintain the Nutrition Services Department web page.
- Plan marketing and promotional activities as needed to support department, state, and federal initiatives.
- Coordinate with the communications department on the promotion of marketing initiatives.
- Design department marketing collateral including signage and outreach materials.
- Design promotional items such as staff shirts and event giveaways.
- Seek involvement of campus and department staff members, community organizations, and health professionals to promote department goals.
- Create and produce marketing materials to promote new or improved menu items. Coordinate with department administrators to develop and implement procedures for menu changes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups and individuals.
- Support the Nutrition Services Department with regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Nutrition Services, Customer Engagement, and the Director of Nutrition Services.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
All nutrition service employees must use good body mechanics and follow safe working procedures including infection control. The employee must report any unsafe condition to a manager or supervisor and demonstrate no on-the-job injuries due to a lack of good safety practices. On-the-job accidents must be reported immediately to the manager or supervisor and an accident report completed.
