About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist to join our cybersecurity team at Scalian. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and improving the security posture of our organization and clients. You will play a critical role in incident detection and response, vulnerability management, and security governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity operations, threat analysis, and security best practices. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding our digital assets, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting our continuous improvement initiatives in security processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in security operations, incident response, or cybersecurity roles.
- Proficiency with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and security monitoring platforms.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and endpoint security.
- Experience conducting security incident investigations, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with security standards such as ISO 27001, TISAX, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or similar are preferred.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include overseeing security operations, managing incident response, and ensuring continuous security improvements:
Operational security & SOC
- Monitoring and steering of the SOC, whether managed internally or via external providers.
- Analyzing security alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Performing incident triage and prioritization to ensure timely response.
- Following up on corrective actions to mitigate risks effectively.
- Participating actively in security incident management, including investigation using SIEM, logs, endpoints, and network data.
- Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) to understand incident origins and prevent recurrence.
- Contributing to post-incident reviews to capture lessons learned and improve response strategies.
- Continuously enhancing detection rules and SOC processes to adapt to evolving threats.
Penetration testing & vulnerability management
- Managing external penetration tests and internal assessments, including scoping, objectives, and follow-up.
- Analyzing reports and identifying vulnerabilities for remediation.
- Coordinating with IT teams to develop and implement remediation plans.
- Participating in vulnerability management activities, including scanning, prioritization, and follow-up actions.
Governance & cross-functional security
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of security standards, best practices, and system hardening guidelines.
- Participating in security audits such as ISO 27001, TISAX, and customer-specific assessments.
- Providing security support and guidance to IT teams managing systems, networks, and endpoints.
- Maintaining an active security watch for emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
