About The Role
We are supporting a key client that is expanding its operations in Bangalore, India, by recruiting a Security Platform Engineer. This role is integral to the organization’s cyber defence infrastructure, responsible for engineering, deploying, and maintaining security platforms across both cloud and on-premises environments. The Security Platform Engineer will work closely with security operations teams, incident response units, and threat intelligence teams to ensure the security tools and platforms are optimized for maximum effectiveness. This position offers a long-term contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent role, providing a unique chance to develop your career within a dynamic and innovative cybersecurity environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information security and cyber security, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing security platforms. A solid understanding of log telemetry, data pipelines, and detection use cases is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in platform integration across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, alongside troubleshooting complex security issues. Experience with security platforms such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), email security solutions, Threat Intelligence Platforms, and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) is highly desirable. Additionally, proficiency in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell, along with automation frameworks, is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is necessary to qualify for this role.
Responsibilities
- Engineer, deploy, and maintain security platforms across hybrid environments, ensuring seamless integration between cloud and on-premises systems.
- Provide actionable telemetry and insights to security operations centers (SOC) and incident response (IR) teams for threat detection and response.
- Integrate security platforms within detection and response pipelines, including SIEM, SOAR, and data lakes, to facilitate comprehensive threat analysis.
- Optimize platform configurations, fine-tune performance, and ensure platform health through regular monitoring and maintenance.
- Collaborate with CDC operations teams to develop and implement detection and response use cases aligned with organizational security policies.
- Contribute to automation initiatives, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code efforts to streamline platform operations and incident handling.
- Evaluate and onboard new security tools, emphasizing vendor-agnostic solutions and platform capabilities to enhance security posture.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks to support troubleshooting, incident response, and platform management.
