Hiring: Security Firmware Validation Engineer – Cybersecurity Testing

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Security Firmware Validation Engineer to join our cybersecurity testing team. The role focuses on validating security firmware for NXP automotive SoCs and ensuring the reliability, robustness, and compliance of firmware components across SoC, MPU, and MCU platforms.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in embedded firmware validation, low-level debugging, and system-level analysis within automotive or embedded security environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform validation and testing of security firmware on NXP automotive platforms
- Validate firmware functionality at:
- Black Box Level
- SoC Level
- System / Integration Level
- Execute validation on ARM-based SoC, MPU, and MCU architectures
- Debug complex firmware and security-related issues using hardware/software debugging tools
- Validate secure boot firmware flows and embedded firmware functionality
- Analyze failures, identify root causes, and provide debugging insights
- Collaborate with firmware development, architecture, and system teams during validation cycles
- Conduct benchmarking, profiling, and firmware performance analysis
Required Skills & ExpertiseEmbedded & Firmware Validation
- Strong hands-on experience in embedded firmware validation
- Good understanding of embedded systems and firmware behavior
- Experience with firmware-level testing and debugging
Architecture Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- SoC / MPU / MCU architecture
- ARM architecture
- Automotive domain experience preferred
- Exposure to NXP automotive SoCs is an added advantage
Programming & Operating Systems
- Strong programming skills in:
- C
- Python
- Scripting Languages
- Experience with RTOS environments
Toolchains & IDEs
- Green Hills Software (GHS)
- GNU Cross Compilers
- NXP Design Studio / IDEs
Debug & Validation Tools
- Lauterbach
- GDB
- JTAG / Trace32
- Strong hands-on debugging capability
Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Firmware debugging and failure analysis
- Benchmarking and profiling
- System-level issue isolation and root cause analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive cybersecurity or secure firmware validation
- Exposure to secure boot and embedded security mechanisms
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams
