Role Description The Cyber Security Engineer for Australia opportunities role is a full-time, on-site position based in Australia. In this role, the engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect applications, networks, and information systems used in immigration and visa consulting operations. Daily tasks include performing vulnerability assessments, monitoring security alerts, investigating incidents, and recommending remediation measures. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with security standards, support secure system architecture, and produce clear documentation and reports. The role also involves staying current with emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices to strengthen overall security posture.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Application Security and experience securing web and enterprise applications.
- Solid foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Hands-on expertise in Network Security, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
- Proficiency in Vulnerability Assessment, including use of scanning tools, risk analysis, and remediation planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or similar are an advantage.
- Experience with security incident response, log analysis, and SIEM tools is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and produce concise security documentation.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data protection and privacy is a plus.
