About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in implementing, managing, and optimizing security tools and protocols that protect our organization’s digital infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing security solutions such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting cloud security, incident response, regulatory compliance, and vendor assessments. The role is based in Hyderabad with a remote work arrangement, and the shift time is from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM IST, aligning with global security operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have over five years of experience in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Relevant certifications such as Azure Virtual certifications, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF, along with a solid understanding of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS. Experience with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools like PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, and familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical, along with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to safeguard our digital infrastructure. Monitoring security alerts and events to identify potential threats will be a key aspect of the role, requiring continuous tuning and optimization of security monitoring systems. The engineer will participate actively in incident response activities, including investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and supporting remediation efforts to prevent recurrence.
Supporting regulatory compliance efforts is essential, with responsibilities including conducting security assessments, audits, and ensuring adherence to standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and others. The role also involves assessing the security posture of vendors and supply chain partners, developing and maintaining vendor risk management programs, and ensuring third-party compliance.
Additionally, the engineer will coordinate security and compliance projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and scope. Managing cloud security environments—specifically AWS, Azure, and GCP—by implementing best practices and monitoring configurations is also part of the responsibilities. The candidate must stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance their expertise.
