About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at SENTIENT. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s digital infrastructure by deploying, managing, and optimizing various security tools and systems. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of security protocols, threat detection, incident response, and compliance standards. The Cyber Security Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices across cloud environments, network architectures, and enterprise systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the protection of sensitive data and ensuring the organization's compliance with industry regulations. The position is based in Hyderabad with a remote working arrangement, and the shift timing is from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM IST.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have equivalent professional experience spanning at least five years in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Certifications such as Azure Virtual, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are highly preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience specifically in cybersecurity roles, with proficiency in deploying and managing security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. Strong knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is essential. Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure CLI is required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with a strong work ethic and integrity. Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and a good understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and DevOps principles will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to ensure the organization’s digital assets are protected against threats. Monitoring security alerts and analyzing potential threats will be a core part of the role, requiring continuous tuning and optimization of security monitoring systems to ensure high performance. The engineer will participate in incident response activities, investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and supporting remediation efforts to mitigate future risks. Ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS through regular security assessments and audits is vital. The role also involves assessing vendor and supply chain security practices, developing risk management programs, and conducting security evaluations of third-party partners. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate security and compliance projects, collaborating with various teams to meet project deadlines and deliverables. Securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP by implementing best practices and security controls is another key responsibility. Staying updated on emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through continuous learning is essential to maintaining our security posture.
