About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring security tools and systems to protect our infrastructure and client data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, experience with security monitoring and incident response, and a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay at the forefront of cybersecurity technology and best practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have equivalent professional experience spanning over five years in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Relevant certifications such as Azure Virtual certifications, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles, demonstrating proficiency with security tools like SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. A solid understanding of regulatory frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is essential. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards learning are also required. Experience with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates, along with knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking, databases, and operating systems, will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to ensure robust security posture.
- Monitor security alerts and events continuously to identify and respond to potential threats promptly.
- Participate in incident response activities by investigating security incidents, analyzing root causes, and supporting remediation efforts.
- Maintain and optimize security monitoring systems through tuning and updates to ensure high performance and accuracy.
- Support compliance initiatives by conducting security assessments, audits, and documentation to meet standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, and SOC 2.
- Assess vendor and supply chain security practices, developing and maintaining a comprehensive vendor risk management program.
- Coordinate and support security and compliance projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and scope.
- Implement and manage security controls in cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technological advancements through continuous learning and professional development.
