About The Role
The Cyber Security Engineer at SENTIENT will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's digital environment by deploying, managing, and optimizing security tools and systems. This position requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in cybersecurity operations, incident response, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work remotely from Hyderabad, with shift timings from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM IST, ensuring continuous security monitoring and threat detection across our cloud and on-premise environments. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have at least five years of experience working within cybersecurity and compliance environments. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable, alongside relevant Azure Virtual certifications. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of specialized experience in cybersecurity, with proficiency in security tools like SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. Strong knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is essential. Additionally, familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP will be advantageous. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are mandatory, along with a strong work ethic and integrity.
Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to ensure comprehensive protection of the organization’s infrastructure. Monitoring security alerts and analyzing potential threats will be a core function, requiring continuous tuning of security systems to maintain optimal performance. The role involves participating in incident response activities, including investigating security breaches, documenting incidents, and assisting in remediation efforts to prevent future occurrences. Ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks like HIPAA, HITECH, and SOC 2 through regular security assessments and audits is crucial. Conducting vendor and supply chain security assessments will also be part of the responsibilities, helping to mitigate third-party risks. The engineer will coordinate security and compliance projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and effective solutions. Securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP by implementing best practices and security controls is vital. The role demands staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through ongoing learning and professional development.
