About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring security tools and systems to safeguard our infrastructure and client assets. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of security protocols, threat detection, and incident response. As a Cyber Security Engineer at SENTIENT, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture. The position offers an opportunity to work in a challenging environment with exposure to cloud security, regulatory compliance, and advanced threat management, all while supporting SENTIENT’s commitment to delivering secure solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have over five years of experience working in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Azure Virtual certifications are highly preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles, demonstrating proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. A solid understanding of regulatory frameworks including NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with a demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving security landscapes. Experience with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools like PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates, as well as monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, will be advantageous. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking, databases, and operating systems (Windows, Linux) is also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Security Tool Implementation: Deploy and manage security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. Ensure these tools are properly configured, maintained, and optimized for effective security monitoring.
- Security Monitoring and Threat Detection: Continuously monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats. Maintain and tune security systems to ensure high performance and accuracy in threat detection.
- Incident Response: Participate actively in incident response activities by investigating and analyzing security incidents. Document findings, report incidents, and assist in remediation efforts to prevent future occurrences.
- Regulatory Compliance: Support the organization’s compliance with regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and others. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to verify adherence to regulatory standards.
- Vendor and Supply Chain Assessment: Evaluate the security practices of vendors and supply chain partners. Develop and maintain a vendor risk management program to ensure third-party security standards are met.
- Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate security and compliance projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope. Collaborate with various teams to support project requirements and deliverables.
- Cloud Security: Implement and monitor security controls in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Ensure cloud configurations adhere to best practices and security standards.
- Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
