About The Role
The Cyber Security Engineer at SENTIENT plays a vital role in safeguarding the company's and clients' digital environments. This position involves deploying, managing, and optimizing security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to detect and prevent cyber threats. The engineer will actively monitor security alerts, analyze potential threats, and respond to incidents effectively. Additionally, the role encompasses ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS, conducting security assessments, and managing vendor risk programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security, particularly with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills. This position offers an opportunity to work remotely from Hyderabad, with shift timings from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM IST, supporting a global security infrastructure.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have at least five years of experience working within cybersecurity and compliance environments. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Azure Virtual certifications are highly preferred. A minimum of five years of professional experience, with at least three years specifically in cybersecurity, is required. Proficiency with security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF is essential. Knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is necessary to ensure compliance. The candidate must be skilled in scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools like PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, and familiar with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial, along with a demonstrated work ethic and integrity. Experience working with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and troubleshooting tools is also required.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF, ensuring proper configuration and maintenance.
- Monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats, maintaining and tuning security monitoring systems for optimal performance.
- Participate in incident response activities, investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and assisting in remediation efforts.
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives by conducting security assessments, audits, and ensuring adherence to standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS.
- Assess vendor and supply chain security practices, developing and maintaining a comprehensive vendor risk management program.
- Coordinate security and compliance projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and scope.
- Implement and manage cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development.
- Develop and maintain scripting solutions using PowerShell, Terraform, and other tools to automate security processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot security infrastructure, utilizing tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Assist in developing security policies, procedures, and documentation to strengthen the organization's security posture.
