About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at SENTIENT. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing various security tools and systems to protect our digital assets and infrastructure. Your expertise will be vital in monitoring security events, responding to incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting cloud security initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, with hands-on experience working with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and cloud security platforms. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the ongoing security posture of the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have at least five years of progressive experience in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Azure Virtual certifications are preferred. A minimum of three years of dedicated experience in cybersecurity is required, with proficiency in security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. Strong knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is essential. The candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop new skills. Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with team members and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools like PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, and familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP are highly desirable. Knowledge of networking, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Log Analytics will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain security systems to detect and respond to potential threats effectively.
- Analyze security alerts and events, conducting investigations to identify and mitigate security incidents.
- Participate in incident response activities, documenting findings, and supporting remediation efforts to prevent future occurrences.
- Support compliance initiatives by conducting security assessments and audits aligned with HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and other relevant regulations.
- Assess vendors and supply chain partners to ensure their security practices meet organizational standards, developing and maintaining a vendor risk management program.
- Coordinate and support security and compliance projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and scope.
- Implement and manage security configurations in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development.
- Utilize scripting tools like PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates to automate security processes and infrastructure deployment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot security systems using tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into infrastructure and application development processes.
