About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at SENTIENT. This role is vital in safeguarding our digital infrastructure and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cybersecurity, with hands-on experience deploying, managing, and tuning security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, investigating incidents, supporting compliance efforts, and enhancing our security posture across cloud and on-premises environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a focus on continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or have at least 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Azure Virtual certifications are preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in cybersecurity, with proficiency in security tools like SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF. Knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with a keen eagerness to learn new skills. Experience with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, and Azure CLI is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a good understanding of cloud security practices (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking, databases, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF, ensuring they are properly configured and maintained to provide optimal security coverage.
- Monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats, performing continuous tuning of security monitoring systems for enhanced detection capabilities.
- Participate in incident response activities by investigating security incidents, analyzing root causes, documenting findings, and supporting remediation efforts to prevent future occurrences.
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives by conducting security assessments, audits, and ensuring adherence to standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS.
- Assess vendors and supply chain partners for security practices, developing and maintaining a comprehensive vendor risk management program.
- Coordinate and support security and compliance projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and scope requirements.
- Implement and manage security controls in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring best practices are followed for cloud security configurations.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development activities.
- Utilize scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates to streamline security operations and infrastructure management.
- Work closely with IT and development teams to integrate security principles into the organization’s infrastructure, applications, and processes.
