About The Role
The Cyber Security Engineer at SENTIENT plays a vital role in safeguarding our digital infrastructure by deploying, managing, and enhancing security tools and systems. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response. The role involves monitoring security alerts, conducting vulnerability assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous learning to stay ahead of emerging threats. This position is based in Hyderabad with remote flexibility, operating on a shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM IST.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or possess equivalent professional experience spanning at least five years in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Certifications such as Azure Virtual certifications, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are highly preferred. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience with security tools like SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF is essential. Knowledge of regulatory standards including NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is required. Proficiency with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, and Azure CLI is necessary. Familiarity with cloud security practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP, along with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights, will be advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, coupled with a good work ethic and integrity, are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Security Tool Implementation: Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to ensure optimal protection of organizational assets.
- Security Monitoring and Threat Detection: Continuously monitor security alerts and events, analyze potential threats, and fine-tune monitoring systems to enhance detection capabilities.
- Incident Response: Lead investigations into security incidents, document findings, coordinate remediation efforts, and support post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and other relevant regulations through audits, assessments, and policy updates.
- Vendor and Supply Chain Assessment: Evaluate the security posture of vendors and supply chain partners, develop risk management strategies, and ensure adherence to security standards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and complete security and compliance projects within scope and deadlines.
- Cloud Security Management: Implement and monitor security controls across cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring secure configurations and best practices.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and technological advancements through ongoing training and professional development.
