Position: Customer Success Engineer (India)
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $25K–$35K per year
Location: Remote (India)
Role Responsibilities
- Provide timely and effective support to users interacting with the Mercor platform during application, interview, offer, and payment processes.
- Investigate user-reported issues end-to-end by reproducing bugs, identifying root causes, and distinguishing between UX friction, model edge cases, and system defects.
- Debug across the AI and SaaS stack using telemetry, logs, network inspection, and database queries to understand production behavior.
- Triage issues and escalate genuine engineering problems while resolving others through configuration adjustments, prompt refinement, or user guidance.
- Identify recurring patterns and systemic product risks and communicate insights to engineering and product teams.
- Create documentation, guides, and runbooks to improve issue resolution speed and reduce repeat problems.
- Maintain clear, empathetic, and professional communication with users while keeping a friendly and approachable tone.
Requirements
- Ability to debug modern web applications.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from a reputable institution, or experience working at a high-growth technology startup.
- Experience building modern web applications (e.g., React, Node.js, Flask, Next.js) or 2–5 years of experience supporting customers using such platforms.
- Strong written communication skills with native-level English proficiency.
- Comfort working with AI systems including LLMs, agents, or generative AI models.
- Understanding of model outputs, failure modes, hallucinations, and feedback loops.
