ABOUT THE PROJECT
This role supports ParkSmart, an AI-powered parking analytics platform designed to help parking operators and cities better understand parking usage and operational challenges. The project is currently in the customer discovery phase, where we are engaging with parking operators, managers, and industry stakeholders to better understand real-world parking problems and validate key product assumptions.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Customer Discovery Associate to conduct discovery conversations with industry professionals and gather insights that will help shape the ParkSmart product strategy.
You will interact directly with stakeholders in the parking and mobility industry in Canada, identify operational challenges, and translate customer feedback into actionable insights for the product team. The role involves coordinating outreach, managing discovery conversations, and documenting findings that inform product direction and market positioning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct customer discovery calls with parking operators, managers, and industry stakeholders.
- Schedule and manage outbound calls and follow-ups with potential participants.
- Ask structured questions to uncover pain points, workflows, and operational challenges.
- Document conversations and synthesize insights for the product and strategy teams.
- Assist in refining customer personas, market needs, and potential partnership opportunities.
- Represent the ParkSmart project professionally when interacting with industry professionals.
- Work with cross-functional team members to translate customer feedback into actionable product insights.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates should be available to make calls during Canadian business hours (9 AM to 5 PM CST) when engaging with stakeholders.
- Ability to make international calls independently.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Good understanding of Canadian culture, professional etiquette, and communication norms.
- Comfortable engaging with senior professionals and decision-makers.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Organized with the ability to document insights clearly and accurately.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in customer discovery, market research, sales outreach, or customer support.
- Familiarity with startup environments or product discovery processes.
- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback to support decision-making.
- Background in Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or a related field is a plus.
