Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Custom House Broker – Documentation specialist. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and submitting customs documentation for import and export shipments in compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities include coordinating with customers, customs officials, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely clearance of goods. The role also includes maintaining up-to-date records, monitoring shipment statuses, resolving documentation issues, and providing customer support related to customs and trade processes. The candidate will contribute to process improvements, ensure adherence to company policies, and support overall operational efficiency in customs brokerage activities.
Qualifications
- Strong Customs Brokerage skills, including preparation and validation of statutory documents and familiarity with customs regulations.
- Experience in Import and Export documentation, with an understanding of shipment processes and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of International Trade practices, Incoterms, and trade compliance norms.
- Customer Service skills to manage client queries, provide status updates, and maintain professional communication.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant logistics or customs software platforms.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, commerce, or a related field; prior experience in a CHA/customs documentation role is preferred.
