Curriculum Developer & Learning Experience Lead

The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced educator who loves designing learning as much as facilitating it.
You will work directly with children while also building SPOT’s curriculum, project-based learning experiences and documentation systems.
This role combines the heart of a great teacher with the thinking of a curriculum designer.
You won’t be writing textbooks.
You’ll be designing learning journeys.
What You’ll Do:
Design Outstanding Learning Experiences
* Design engaging Project Based Learning (PBL) experiences
* Build interdisciplinary learning projects
* Develop inquiry-based learning modules
* Design real-world challenges and community projects
* Create hands-on learning activities
* Build maker, entrepreneurship, sustainability and life-skills experiences
* Ensure learning is joyful, meaningful and rigorous
Personalised Learning:
* Design personalised learning pathways for individual learners
* Adapt curriculum for different abilities and learning styles
* Support neurodivergent learners through strengths-based planning
* Create extension work for advanced learners
* Design scaffolds for children needing additional support
Curriculum Development:
Develop curriculum across areas including:
* English
* Mathematics
* Science
* Humanities
* Financial Literacy
* Entrepreneurship
* Design Thinking
* Sustainability
* Communication
* Executive Function Skills
* Social Emotional Learning
Ensure curriculum aligns with:
* Project Based Learning
* Competency Based Learning
* IGCSE / NIOS outcomes (where applicable)
* Future-ready skills
Documentation & Frameworks:
Develop internal systems including:
* Learning frameworks
* Unit plans
* Weekly learning guides
* Project documentation
* Assessment rubrics
* Reflection templates
* Portfolio documentation
* Student exhibition frameworks
* Teacher guides
* Learning progression documents
Build documentation that allows another teacher to confidently facilitate the experience.
Facilitate Learning:
Spend significant time with learners by:
* Facilitating projects
* Running workshops
* Mentoring learners
* Supporting independent work
* Leading discussions
* Providing meaningful feedback
* Building relationships with children
We expect our curriculum designers to remain active educators.
Teacher Development:
* Train other facilitators
* Model effective facilitation
* Help improve lesson quality
* Observe classrooms
* Improve learning experiences continuously

* Has 5+ years of teaching experience
* Has designed curriculum—not just delivered it
* Has strong experience with Project Based Learning

* Built a reusable curriculum library for future facilitators
What Success Looks Like:
A great candidate will leave behind systems—not just lesson plans.
When they build a project, another facilitator should be able to run it confidently.
When children experience their learning, they should leave saying:
“That was one of the best things I’ve ever learned.”
Who This Role Is Perfect For:
This role is ideal for someone who has been an exceptional classroom teacher and now wants to shape how an entire school designs learning. You care deeply about children, believe learning should be authentic and joyful, and enjoy turning big educational ideas into practical experiences that teachers can confidently facilitate and students genuinely remember.
This isn’t a desk-based curriculum writing role. You’ll be in classrooms, observing children, refining projects, collaborating with facilitators and continuously improving how learning happens at SPOT.
