Role Description The Sr Fundraising Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for leading and growing Kokan NGO’s fundraising portfolio. This role involves developing and executing fundraising strategies, particularly with major donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic foundations, to support the organization’s programs and long-term mission. The Sr Fundraising Manager will manage donor pipelines, prepare compelling proposals and impact reports, coordinate annual giving campaigns, and ensure effective stewardship and retention of supporters. Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging with donors and charities, organizing fundraising events, collaborating with program teams to align funding needs with donor interests, and maintaining accurate records and reporting. The role also includes mentoring junior fundraising staff, monitoring performance against targets, and representing Kokan NGO at external meetings and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in working with major donors and philanthropy, with a proven track record of securing significant gifts and long-term partnerships.
- Knowledge of charities and annual giving, including campaign planning, donor segmentation, and stewardship best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex social impact narratives clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in fundraising strategy, donor relationship management, and CRM or fundraising databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, development studies, nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Demonstrated understanding of CSR, Indian nonprofit regulations, and the philanthropy landscape in India.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to meet targets and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Commitment to social impact, equity, and inclusion, and willingness to travel within India as needed for donor meetings and field visits.
